Not much visitor around, but really lot of huge size of Japan Koi fish over here! 1st time saw a koi fish size bigger than my hand! OMG! Totally no experience to shoot koi fish photo, something wrong with my angle, as well as the setting. Besides, a lot of visitor took photo there with camera phone, wonder is tat nice too?

After Sarawak post, should post up what i have done on Chinese new year 2008. Although it was outdated, about 2 month ago or more than that. Then, let me start this series from Kek Lok Si Temple, which located at Air Hitam, Penang Malaysia. As usual year, i visited hometown from 2nd day of chinese new year, and this time i decide to go visit Penang as well. Along with Fattien, we have arrange so much of activities to meet up friends and travel here and there, too bad for the highway traffic, we late all the time and congested along the trip. Thus, special thanks for HungWei for so much of patience to waiting us and guide us to travel around the penang island.

We have visited this place, Kek Lok Si Temple on 3rd day of chinese new year, crowd of people over there, and cars everywhere. Lucky me i no need to drive, and we didnt spent much time stuck on traffic. I noticed a lot of photographer there, and also those penang beauties lol! Sky was dark that night, because we late there around 9pm plus. Thus, my photo nothing special compare with typical Kek Lok Si Temple photo, so i need to practise more to improve my shooting skill.

To know more about Kek Lok Si Temple, please refer to the info below that i grab from Yahoo!

Reputedly the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia, situated close to the bustling Air Hitam market. The temple’s enclave including a pagoda and a huge statue of the Goddess Kuan Yin is prominent. Besides the monastery, a seven-storey pagoda of 10,000 Buddha images displays the essence of an eclectic mix of Chinese, Thai and Burmese architecture. The main hall has colorful souvenir shops. A shrine filled with statues and a courtyard where a large pond full of carp and the tortoises are main attractions. Here a pathway that leads to a stairway will take you to the Pagoda.

According to HungWei, you must visit Kek Lok Si Temple during chinese new year, when you come to penang. Why? Because full of lanterns fill up the whole temple, and you can have amazing night view from top of the hill. Plus, you can come can pray here, make a new year wish. There is construction project on Kek Lok Si Temple currently, or else i can took those grand artwork and show up here, like the huge Kuan Yin and others temple building. Maybe i do this next year again?

Iban Long House, Batu Niah Sarawak

Finally, this is the last part for my premium eat play Batu Niah, Sarawak trip. I ate a lot, travel a lot, learn & expose lot of new stuff, for me. This part consist some mirror of small town life, which is stable, peace and slow, compare with city life. You can enjoy a lot here, no night life here, and simple. Therefore, Batu Niah people very kind for everyone. Maybe just because this town have around 4-5 street only?

Seriously, there was quite boring here as no shopping complex, no cyber cafe, no spa, less entertainment except watch TV home or surf net. You know, then can get FREE international channel intead of paying to Astro every month, even they can enjoy the LATEST oversea drama & shows! It was open secret for everyone there, unlike we pay so much for Astro. If you like Nature, you like activities, if you love live in peace, Batu Niah is your paradise, and your best choice compare with Kampar, Ipoh.

Later, we have journey to visit Iban long house. Yes, Sarawak Iban long house. And, the Iban long house now different with the previous, and out of my imagination 1. They have water supply and electricity supply now, some nothing different with those double story houses! I though can watch some traditional dance or performance, but too bad most of them out to work already.

Little introduction on Iban long house:

These thriving communities, whole villages under one roof, are not relics from the days of tribal warfare – they are the preferred way of life for a large percentage of Sarawak’s rural people, particularly the Iban, the Bidayuh and the Orang Ulu.

Nowadays most longhouse dwellers are hard working farmers, and wear practical modern clothing for work and leisure. However, if you visit as part of an organized tour group, they will take great pride in wearing their traditional costumes and regalia and performing elaborate dances and welcoming rituals for their visitors.
